The genre of my first source is an online article, which is discussing a new innovation in memory storage. It is a non-scholarly article, written so that someone outside of the field of engineering could understand the concepts. I will discuss how the article uses relatively simple language, and references everyday concepts so that almost anyone could understand how the new concept works.

My second source is an example of the engineering method to solving problems. In order to communicate the results of a solution, engineers must be very explicit in their step by step process. I will discuss how not only is every step of the math documented and labeled, the steps are also annotated to show why they took the steps they did. A requirement of this kind of writing is that the reader should be able to look at just the solution to the problem, and be able to interpret what the original problem was.

My third source is a scholarly article discussing a new innovation in the use of biofuel. The audience of this paper includes only those in the field of engineering, specifically the biotechnological field, so it is written in a way that makes it very difficult to understand if you have not studied that field. I will discuss how it is separated into different sections, making it easier to find the information each person is looking for. It also uses many data tables to efficiently present the results.
